Whiff of Joy card

Hello,
For today's post I have a card using I miss you Gnome stamp. I've never used this company before.  Allthatscraps.com was having a sale on them so I decided to check them out. I gotta say they're super cute. I picked up two images and I wish I would of gotten more of them.

My card:

For the card base I used The Paper Company Kraft cardstock. Cut at 5 1/2 x11. Scored in half to make a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square card.  Stamped Cosmo Cricket/Unit Stamp Comp. row of mushroom houses from Pixie-Licious Fairies Stamp set stamped with Stampin' Up!'s Bermuda Bay ink. Stamped the Whiff of Joy stamp on Cryogen White cardstock and colored it in with my Copics. For his little hat I used a scrap piece of cardstock from Cosmo Crickets Material Girl 6x6 Mini Deck. Popped the hat up with some foam dots and also the house.  For the heart bubble I used Quickutz Speech Bubble 2x2 die stamped with a sentiment from Unity Stamp Co. Lollipop Tree You and Me stamp set. The clouds were punched using the same scrap paper from Cosmo Cricket using Fiskars Medium and Large Cloud punch.

Copic Colors used:
Colorless Blender
110 Special Black
BG15, BG18
E0000, E000, E00

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 150

Hello everyone,
For today's post I have an altered organizer I created using the sketch:

It's going to be a long post so please hold on till the end. LOL!

The front cover:

I have no idea what this Christmas paper is. I've had it for years and years. I bought it at Michaels and it came with like 80 sheets of really flimsy thin paper.  I'm trying to use it up since I feel so guilty having all this paper and buying more. But I think next year it's going to be donated to my daughter's class and I'm buying new paper. What I did first was cut 2 pieces of chipboard and the pattern paper to 5x7. Ran the pattern paper through my Xyron 900 and attached it to the chipboard.  Used the Corner Chomper (1/4 inch size) on the outer two corners. With my Crystal Stickles I added a little sparkle to the cover. Let it dry. Added a banner strip using pattern paper from the same Christmas stack. The scallop border was created using Quickutz Scallop Edges die out of some scrap paper and added some Martha Stewart clear gem stickers, can't find a link for these. The snowflake was created with glitter paper I found at Target's $1 spot using my Cricut Expression and the Christmas Solutions Cartridge.  Added a huge Jolee's Boutique Vintage Gem in the center. For the label I used Take Note-Holidays Taylored Expressions stamp set stamped with Jenni Bowlin Chili Powder ink on Papertrey Ink Stamper's Select White cardstock and Take Note die 3 to cut the shape out. All the edges were distressed using Broken China distress ink.

The insides:

The inside pages were cut at 4.5x6.5. I wanted the inside pages smaller so that the tabs don't stick out past the organizer. Behind the tab page are 5 pages of regular computer paper.  I created all the tabs using Taylored Expressions Keeping Tabs stamp set and Keeping Tabs die. Same design, paper, ink and stamp set as the front cover except I used Take Note die 2 and Studio 18 Rhinestones, found at Michaels $1 spot. I have four tabs total, two that look like the picture above with the sentiments To Do and Gifts and two that look like envelopes with the sentiments Coupons and Receipts.

Envelope Front
Envelope Back:
For the envelopes I used my Silhouette and pocket_envelope_c00194_41853 file from the Silhouette online store. To make sure the flaps stay closed I used round velcro dots.

To bind the organizer I used the We R Memory Keepers Cinch Version 1 and the binding wire 1.25 in silver. Attached 3 bows of seam binding and in one of them I ran a red clip through it with a small pencil.

Thanks for hanging till the end,
Yar!tza

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch 45

Hello,
I have another card for this weeks card sketch challenge from MFT. Here is the sketch for this week. To find out more info click HERE.

The front of my card:

I decided to make this a tag/card combo so the recipient could use it as a book mark if they so choose after they read the message. To make the front of my card I cut the tag using Tim Holtz Sizzix Tag & Bookplates die out of The Paper Company Kraft cardstock.  I used MFT's Rain or Shine stamp set. Stamped the clouds from that set at the top of the tag with Frost Versamark. Cut trips of cardstock from Cosmos Crickets 6x6 Mini Deck Delovely and used Quickutz Scallop Edges die set to cut the small and bigger scallops.  Did some zig zag stitching with my machine. Edged the tag with Prima's Chalk Ink in Vintage Pink. Stamped her on Cryogen White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the skin, jacket ruffle, boots and the dog with my Copics. Her jacket was paper pieced with the same Cosmo Cricket collection. For the rain puddle I colored it in with my Copics then gave it a light coat of Glossy Accents.  I had forgotten I wanted to add the rain drop stamp as well. So I very carefully inked my stamp and stamped the rain drops with Ice Blue Chalk ink and added Crystal Stickles to the bottom of the rain drops for some shine. For the umbrella I stamped the image on the back of the cardstock so that I could cut it out. I wanted the shape but not the stamped image. Added some foam dots to the back of the umbrella and added it on.

The back of my card:

I created a pocket by first measuring the size of cardstock needed to cover the back and then using a circle punch to punch half a circle to make the folded card easier to take out. Yeah I'm completely off center. Inked the edges and adhered it using 1/4 inch Scor-Tape on three sides leaving the top free. Out of scrap cardstock cut the little hole finishers. For the ribbon I used seam binding which I colored with coordinating Copic colors using the broad side. Fed them through the hole and tied them together with hemp twine.

Copic colors used:
E0000, E00, E11, E23, E25
C00
BG 13, BG18
YG03
Colorless Blender

Studio Calico Layout

For today's project I created a layout based on Studio Calico's Sunday's sketch.

My layout:

I kept it pretty simple this time. I was putting a lot of the layouts I've created away and found myself with album almost full with barely any layouts in it. I'm going to have to make some dimensional and some flat so that I can fit more in there if not I'm going to end up with 4 albums per year per kid.  I used the Greenhouse add-on kit. The only thing from my stash was the brown and blue cardstock.  For the large scallops on the top of the layout I used Quickutz Scallop Edges Border Die and for the small scallops at the bottom of the page I used Fiskars Scallop Sentiment Border Punch. To finish it up I sewed a zig zag stitch around some of the edges.

That's it for today

MFT card

Hello,
For today I have a card I created using MFT stamps for their weekly sketch. For more info click HERE.

Here is the sketch:

My take of it:

I used MFT's Maid For You stamp set. The card base is cut with The Paper Company's kraft cardstock, found at Joanns, cut at 5x10 scored at 5 inches to make a 5x5 card. The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye Life Stories A Daily Dose Line collection 2. I colored my image with Prismacolor Pencils, PC 1065 Cool Gray 70%, PC 935 Black, PC924 Crimson Red, PC901 Indigo Blue, PC949 Metallic Silver, PC946 Dark Brown, PC911 and PC938 White. Added Glossy Accents to the TV screen and Cotton Ball White Fun Flock to her skirt ruffle and duster. To make the wood floors I just simple added a line in the middle and lines going up and down with 4 dots to signify the nails. Cut the scallop with some red scrap paper with Quickutz Scallop Edges die. Added some seam binding, a black button and a small red bell to the center of the bow. Stitched around the layers with my sewing machine. For the sentiment I used MFT's Twisted Sentiments stamp set with Versamark embossed with a la mode white embossing powder. Finished with a square black button that reminded me of Santa's buckle. That's all for today.

Unity Stamp Co. Sketch Challenge

This card is created for Unity Stamp Co. Kit of The Month challenge. They provide a sketch and you make a card interpreting it using one of their Kits of the Month stamps. Click here for more info.
I chose Just Be You from Dec. 2010 to complete my card. Stamped the scallop circle with Jenni Bowlin for Ranger Fountain Pen ink on pattern paper from Authentique 6x6 paper pad Blissful. Cut the outside of the scallop with scissors and used one of my Standard Circles Large Nestabilities to cut the middle of the scallop circle and the top later of the card base, I used The Paper Company Kraft cardstock found at Joanns for my base. I have this really old Ellison design die called Tags, Traditional. I cut the large tag with American Crafts Charcoal cardstock. The scallops were cut using Quickutz die Scallop Edges using more of the pattern paper from the same Aunthentique paper pad, stitched around the edges and added a button using Epiphany Crafts Button Studio Tool Hear 20 with some jute twine tied in a bow. For the inside of the card I stamped the bee from the same Unity Kit with Stazon ink in Jet Black and colored it in with Prismacolor pencils in PC915 Lemon Yellow and PC904 Light Cerulean Blue. That finished this card.

Hello,
Once I saw these HUGE Bottle caps I just knew that I had to attempt to make a pin cushion out of them. I think they were a success. I just love the way they turned out. They're super quick to make and it's a great way to use any fabric and trim scraps you have laying around too.
