as far as I can tell your doing it right - I had problems with mine in beginning I just had to keep practicing and adjusting the blade and I still have problems to this day with it but it has gotten a little better.
I would try one of three things... 1. press a bit harder, 2. adjust the paper gage at the top, or 3. try a new blade.
I normally apply a lot of pressure, not like I can see white knuckles or anything but some. I can't tell from the video how much you are applying so give that a go and see what happens.
looks ok to me. i always leave the blade as far down as it will go unless i am cutting through *really* thin paper. so i would suggest turning the orange gauge at the top so that the blade is all the way down.
otherwise, contact fiskars customer service and they will take care of you! don't be frustrated though!
YEPPEr U doing it right DONT be sad.. It took me a while too I HATED IT!! But then when i got the hang of it I LOVE it But it took me awhile and I was even putting mine upside down. SO U are doing way better than i did.. But everybody done tole u every thing..Try cutting in the opposite direction.. Move your hand like you are moving your Mouse.
I resently got one of these the other week and ive had fun and games with it. Trying to teach myself how to use it. First time i had the template upside down and took a bit out of it.. :S and my paper and stuff keeps moving...
But you seem to be doing it right...to how ive seen people doing it and stuff, id try the blade thingy moving it up and down..theres a little level thing ive found...that controls that.
A couple of things you could try: 1. Make sure you can read "fiskars" the right way, otherwise template is upside down and will not work properly. 2. put in a new blade 3. Adjust the blade down further 4. I acutally don't put that much pressure on mine - if the blade is down far enough you shouldn't have to put too much pressure on it - - you shoud just be resting it on the templates. 5. Make sure the orage bit that holds the blade is not resting ontop of the templates ie that the blade is actually on the paper (looks like it is ok but hard to tell). as for the cracks - mine does not have any cracks either - perhaps you should return it for a new one Once you get the hang of it you will love it, but it does take a bit of playing. Thank you for all your suggestions. I have sat down to try them all and I'm having better luck. some are better than other but I'm getting the hang of it.

Hope this helps some!

I agree with what has already been said. I think it is the amount of pressure or the blade needs adjusted to be touching the paper more.

All of the above and use glass mat-which works wonders for me.

Check the top of your USX unit and make sure the dial is set to the down position (to the left). If you turn it to the right, the blade will come up.
ReplyDeleteI also run it around one more time just to make sure I get it right.
Oooppss looks like other have said this too.
Good luck!
