Monday

Well. Didn't do too much today. Got ready to go and on my way out the door checked CL and a lady was selling a brand new Disney Princess cart for the Cricut for $33. How can I pass that up. Got that. Went and got worms for the Sugar gliders. Returned a book to Ollies and bought Ryan's Grandma a Christmas present. Came home and it took me from 2 pm till 6:30 pm to do one page. Yes that's right One page. That's so sad. I have so many pics to do and can't get my motivation going to get them done. I was always so proud how caught up I was on her books and I'm dragging now. Not too behind. Just at Halloween of this year. We have done a lot since then so I have a bunch of pics to scrap. Maybe after the Holidays I'll feel like getting things done. I do have a Hello Kitty sewing machine to play with. maybe that'll be my motivation.

I really should be cleaning the apartment today. I mean, I only have Ryan's grandma and son coming to stay with us on Friday till whenever they have to go back and it would be nice to have a clean house for them, but no, I'm sitting here blabbing on about nothing. I do have to do laundry tomorrow. That should get my butt in gear and start getting this place done.

No much luck in the house hunt. Can't seem to find a reasonable place to live. It's only been two days since we started looking but not one to even consider looking at. Maybe once the first of the year roll around and people settle down from the holidays we'll see some things come up. Hope so. Don't want to live in this place any more than I have to.

Played with my camera some more last night. Found out that my regular point and shoot digital I have does most of the things this camera does. Should of read the manual and actually attempted to get to know the camera before going and buying another one. Not that I don't love this new camera but it probably could of waited a little more. Oh well. Gotta make up for it by taking some really awesome Christmas pics. It's been so cold and windy outside haven't felt like taking it outside and playing with the settings. Creating Keepsakes has some webisodes by Candence Stringham who shows you how to do a new thing with your camera at least once a week. Went though those and found some really helpful things and some supplies I need to get to take care of my camera. I hope they continue to do those. She knows what she's talking about. Ryan did find that Olympus offers free online tutorials on how to use this particular camera. Saved the website for tonight. While the Sugar gliders are playing I'll be watching the tutorials.

Let me go and do dishes or something, but probably not.

(Maybe next time I'll actually have some pages that I'm proud of to show)

Just a regular kind of day

Today was one of those regular days. Nothing really excited. Got up ate breakfast. Bought the new Bampop stamp Polaroid. So cute. Can't wait till it gets here. Cleaned the Sugar glider cages. Then went to the mall to have my laptop looked at. They did a few upgrades and now it seems to be working pretty good. The line to get in the mall was horrible. It took me about 30 minutes to get to the parking garage and a few more minutes to find parking. Ran into to 3 old friends today. One I have not seen since high school. My freshman year boyfriend to be exact. Then I ran into an old friend who lived a few blocks away from me and he was on his way to see another friend. We all met up caught up on life and exchanged numbers. Then came home, cooked and now we're looking for home rentals. Need to get out of this apartment. It's driving me crazy.

Until next time

Xyron 900 Jammies done

Ok. So all this time and all I got done was the jammies for the 900. I tried and tried. My husband tried and tried and we could not get the sewing machine to act right when it came to sewing ribbon on my neck strap. His grandmas is a sewing genious and she'll be here on Friday so maybe she can help me figure out what settings and such it needs to be in. For now here is a pic of all my covered up tools. Got my Cricut, Cricut Expression, Cuttlebug, Bind it all tool and the Xyron 900. Aren't they the cutest? Can't wait to have my own scrapbook room to set them out in in full glory.

Day at moms

Well I spend most of my day at my mom's house. My niece and nephew stayed over so I wanted to go hang out and try out the new camera. Though we had fun, they didn't let me take any pics of them. They kept moving and turning their heads. Oh well. At least I got to try out a few of the features and understand what they mean.

Most importantly, before I got to moms I stopped by ACMoore to buy a few essentials. Well they were having a sale take 25% off even their sale prices. They had the Bazzill paper pack for $9 so I got two, the Xyron 900 for $50, I got 7 packs of refill for my scrapbooks and a few odds and ends. By the time they took they 25% off and another $10 off if you spend $50 I came out of there spending $54 for everything. I was so happy I could walk on clouds. I emmidiately called my friend and my husband to brag about my good fortune. It felt so good to get everything that I wanted and not break the bank.

Now I gotta sew some ribbon on my strap for my camera. It's black and ugly so I got pink and blue ribbon to sew on there to make it more me. Then to make a cover for my 900. I made matching covers for all of my scrapbooking machines so this one is next. If I have fabric left over may try to make one for my serger.

Gotta go work.

I got it!!!

After many hours of researching for cameras we finally decided on the Olympus E510. It has so many features and at the end of sales it ended up being the cheapest. So far so good. The battery didn't have that much life left but we did manage to play with it for a little while and I like it a lot. Now to study. So many new buttons and features to learn. Should be fun. Ryan suggested that I enroll in a camera class to see if they can teach me the basics. Sounds like a good idea to me. Can't wait till tomorrow to get outside and start taking some pics. Till then, Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

New Camera and Christmas present

Tomorrow I will be getting a new camera. A Canon Rebel XTi. I'm so excited. I can barely wait. Going to Circuit city to make sure that it's 100% the one I want. Ryan wants me to get an Olympus one but I'm not so sure. Then I have to go out and buy some Hello Kitty ribbon to alter my strap. Can't have anything if it doesn't have Hello Kitty on it. Speaking of Hello Kitty, my Christmas present from my husband arrived. I'm getting the Hello Kitty sewing machine. Oh so cute. It's sitting there starring at me on the dinning room table. I'm being so good not to open it and start playing. I bought it to sew on my layouts. I have a nicer one but it's so big and bulky that I hate taking it out unless I absolutely have to. The HK one is compact enough to leave it out and not be in the way. YEAH!!!!!!! Can't you tell I'm excited.

Until next time.

Welcome to my blog!!!!

Hello there,

My name is Yaritza. And I'm a self confessed scrap-a-holic. I love anything to do with paper, stamps, glue. You name it and I like it. It's my destresser. What keeps me sane.

I live in Norfolk, Virginia with my husband of almost 4 years and my beautiful 3 year old daughter. We also have a small zoo containing 2 dogs, 1 cat and 4 sugar gliders.

This will be a place to share my work (every now and then may have a few things for sale) and share events in our lives. So sit back relax and stay a bit.

Any questions or comments please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for stopping by.
