Lawnscaping Challenge #23

Hello,
For today's post I have a tag I created for the current challenge over at Lawnscaping:

My Tag:

Close Up:

For the tag itself I layered some scrap blue cardstock on top of some cardboard. Cut it out using Sizzix/Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplates die. For the snowflakes I took the snowflakes out of Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends. Stamped then with Versamark, added Stampin' Up!'s Heat and Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Distressed the edge of the die with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. For the snow globe I used a Silhouette File Snow Globe C20091007162508_2581 cut with Grafix 12x12 .007 Plastic Sheets and for the metal paper at the bottom of the globe and as the reinforcer of the tag I used DCWV The Metallic 8x8 Stack. Stamped Lawn Fawn's Winter Bunny on Cryogen cardstock and colored in with my Copics. Added a tiny pompon for the tail and used Zig Two Way glue pen on the scarf to add some Dazzling Diamonds. I meticulously cut him out and popped him up with pop dots on the outside of the snow globe. For the inside I took some scrap glitter cardstock and cut a slope in it.  The trees are a Cuttlebug die Tree Tops applied some DecorArt Snow Writer and added some Diamond Stickles to the top to make it look like snow. To create the To, From and the names I used Lawn Fawns Harold's ABC. Attached the tag to the top of the cellophane bag with some white seam binding.

Copic Colors:
110 Special Black
E25, E27
RV21, RV23

Last day of Kindergarten gifts

I wanted to give the kids a little for something for their last day and I came up with these.  I had gone to Target after Valentines to see what they had on clearance and I saw these tiny Playdoh jars.  After looking at them the only Valentines on it was a sticker you add. The actual container were just regular containers so I got them. And at 50% off they were pretty cheap.  Went to Hobby Lobby and found the boxes on clearance for .71 cents for a pack of 24. Such a good deal.  Going though my stash to figure out what to give the kids I realized that they playdoh jars fit inside of the boxes perfectly.  Lucky since I didn't plan it out but I'm glad it worked out cause that made it super easy to make.  The die cut that goes on the jars read: "Thank you for being my classmate" plus my daughters name.

Project Picture:

Supplies:
Playdoh jars
Baby favor boxes: Hobby Lobby
Provo Craft: A child's year Cricut cartridge
Misc. scrap cardstock
Hug Snug: Seam Binding
Stampin' up!: 1 3/4 circle punch(old style)
Spellbinder: Standard Circles Large
3M: Pink ATG gun

Bookmarks

I made these a few weeks back to take to my daughter's class mates on her birthday. Her school is a  no food school but the teacher likes for the parents to come to the class and read the class a book (even though I didn't get to read the book, Isabella read it all by herself) I still wanted to have a little something for the kids.

Breakdown and supplies:
This is a great project to use up all those scraps you have laying around.
You'll need some sort of hear laminating machine.  I used my Provo Craft Yourstory with Scotch's Thermal Laminating Purches for Business I.D. Cards.
For the boys I used Recollection's Kraft cardstock, a frame stamp from SU!'s Label Classics and SU!'s Wild West Alphabet to create each child's initial with Colorbox's chalk ink in Chestnut Roan .  I used Fiskars Gettin' Antsy squeeze punch for the ant die cut. To finish it up I used the Crop-A-Dile to add a hole at the top of the bookmark and added some scrap ribbon.
For the girls I used a Unity Stamp Company frame from KOM 11/2010 Picture Perfect and SU!'s Wild West Alphabet to create the initials. With Recollection's Kraft cardstock and Colorbox's chalk ink in Chestnut Roan. The butterfly die cut is a Martha Stewart punch called 3-in-1 classic butterfly. To finish it up I used the Crop-A-Dile to add the hole at the top of the bookmark and some scrap ribbon.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by:

Play date goodies

My daughter had a play date a few weeks ago and I had made these goodie bags and I forgot to post them.  Very ease, very simple and very quick to make.

Breakdown and supplies:
I got these boxes from MFT stamps. It was a whole kit that included a stamp set, ribbon, brads and these favor boxes. They are no longer for sale.  It was called: I want candy! mini stamp set kit. I used 3 of the boxes and ribbon that came with the kit. For the girls I used Hooga Booga stamp set. It's in the Bubble bin so I'm pretty sure that means that when they sell out they won't be carrying it. I'm not sure but if you want it go get it now. For the boy one I used Love Machine stamp set. I could not find it on the website so I believe is no longer available. All colored with copics and atyou spica pens.  To die cut them I used Standard Circles Large, Classic Scalloped Circles Large, Classic Ovals Large, Classic Scalloped Ovals Large and Labels Four Nestabilities, distressed with Pumice Stone and Spun Sugar distress inks with Ki Memories Classic Prints Paper Pad.

Copic colors:
E0000, E000, EOO
R2O
RV00, RV02, RV04, RV06, RV21, RV23
Y11
YG05, YG07, YG09
YR04
atyou spica:
Pink
Silver

6th Birthday party!

We celebrated my Daughter's 6th birthday party this past Saturday and fun was had by all!! I was exhausted when I got home. I fell asleep on the couch for about an hour. She was hopped up on sugar. LOL! She just wanted to head to her room and start tearing open all the gifts she received.

This is the table setting. They provided all the plates, napkins, cups, place mats and utensils and I made the goodie bags. Very simple. There were about 20 children and their parents there so I had to make quick and simple treats. A lunch bag filled with party favors from Walmart. I printed the journaling on the computer. It reads: Thank you for celebrating my 6th Birthday with me. Skatetown USA February 2011. Isabella Eby.
I cut the rectangles with Nestabilities Long Classic Rectangles Large and Nestablities Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Large. On the corner I added a Littlest Pet shop sticker.  It was her theme added to the theme that the skating rink provided.  Folded the top over and added some curling ribbon to complete the bag.

The beautiful Birthday girl with her cake.

The birthday cake.  I baked three 8 inch square cakes. Cut two about an each shorter than each other and layered them.  The paw at the top was cut with my Martha Stewart Cricut cake using the Mickey and Friends cartridge.  The "grass" was made with a pipping bag and a pipping tip.  The fence is Wilton Fondant cut into rectangles and long strips to make it look like a fence. The flowers were also pipped. Added one of her Littlest pet shop dogs on the top.  There were 24 cupcakes. The grass  and flowers were pipped on. The bone was cut using a cookie cutter with fondant.

Altered acrylic frame

I made this frame for my scraproom. Is going to hold a wedding picture of my husband and I.

Sunday, March 9, 2008

HELLO!!!!

We are all moved in. Almost all unpacked. All I have left is my scraproom and the garage. I'm loving living in a house. The dogs and our daughter are loving it too. Every time the weather is nice they spend the whole day outside playing. Having my own craft room has got to be my most favorite part. I get in there close the door and just listen to music while scrappin when she goes to bed.

I've been busy creating things. Here are quite a few things I've worked on this past week.

**Altered Journal and Paper bag album. These were both for my aunt who had a baby shower on Saturday.

The "Randy" Shelf

There has been a few great organizational items that have come in the market. Since we don't really have the room to have them all my husband and I came up with our own version of them. This shelf mixed the Making Memories shelf, the Clip it up and the wall of peg boards that some people use. Why do we call the shelf the Randy shelf you ask. Well there is a very simple explanation for that. You see my husbands name is Ryan and my name is Yaritza so: R-and-Y=Randy. Pretty genius huh??? My husband came up with this name a couple of years ago when the whole mixing of celebrity couple's name became popular.

The shelf

A Rak: Leave a comment on the blog about the shelf and I will put all the names in a hat and have my 3 year old pick a name. You will get the Heidi swapp clear stamp "Remember" featured in Courtney's webisode in www.scrapinstyletv.com: "The Shabby Rockstar collection with Courtney". Check back on Tuesday Feb. 5th for the winner announcement.

A crappy week

My daughter and I have both been sick for this whole week. I'm finally able to see clearly so I though I'd come on here and update. I don't know what we had. She had the cough and runny nose and I had Haven't don't any scrappin this week. I did finish this awesome layout last week and a few other projects I had started. My daughter posing as always, looking oh so cute. We finally gave out month notice to the apartment complex. I'm so happy. Now the house hunting begins. We have to find a rental in a month. So far there are 2 home to look at on Monday so that's a good sign. The sooner we find a home the less minutes I use on my cell phone talking which is a big plus. Tomorrow we'll be cleaning the storage room and getting rid of all the crap we've been hoarding for years. It's going to feel so good to not drag this stuff out anymore. OH I can't wait. This place is horrible. Just today we got a letter from the city that they have not paid the water bill. Mind you for the last 2 months every tenant has had to pay their own water bill so I don't know how the hell they don't have the money to do so. They don't have to pull it out of pocket anymore. Ryan is going up to the office on Monday and if they have no intention or paying it the rent check is getting canceled. The letter said that if it's not payed in 5 days the water is getting shut off and if/when it happens the water stays off for more than 48 hours we have to evacuate cause it's not considered a suitable place to live. If that happens I'm going to be completely ticked off. Can you imagine trying to find a place to live with 3 people and 7 animals. That's insane. The more I think about it the more I get upset at the whole thing. Well here is a pic of the layout I did. Doesn't she look so cute?!!!

Till next time

Dental surgery today.

Today I had to have a tooth removed. The Orthodontist said it will clear up some room so my teeth can straighten out the rest of the way. I hated it. I felt every pull and yank. It was over in like 5 minutes though. now I'm in bed with a sore face. Atleast it wasn't as bad as when I had my wisdom teeth taken out.

Last night I just could not sleep so I made an altered journal for sketches. Sometimes I'm laying in bed at night and I get an idea and I forget by the time I get up so this should help me keep my layout fresh and new.

I used my favorite stamp company in the world. Inque boutique for the corner semi circle. Basic gray magnetic clasps to hold the book open (my new favorite tool). Misc. Ribbon and cardstock. The owl I cut with the cricut from the Happily ever after cartridge. Modpodge the whole thing. I love the way it looks. So happy and cheerful.

Christmas gifts for my niece and nephew.

I made these frames for my niece and nephew for Christmas. I used the Cricut for the whole Ariel frame and for the name and gas station on the 2nd frame. I got Mator as a sticker from ACM's. The road from the die cuts machine at the LSS and the gears is a sizzix die cut.

It's been a while

Oh my goodness. Haven't popped in here in a while but I have been creating. Along with having to find a new place to rent out. That's so stress full. Got through the Hollidays and New years good. Glad to have had some great company stay with us. Here is one of my latest projects. Found the frame at a thrifts store for 75 cents. Spray painted it and did a 7 inch layout. Love the way it turned out.
