Happy Holidays!

Hope you guys had a fantastic holiday. We had a busy but good day. The kids enjoyed themselves and received some great presents from Santa. Santa was very good to me too. I had a video recorded but my flip is nowhere to be found, who knows where I packed that thing,so I recorded using my regular camera and I'm having a hard time getting it uploaded. The gifts were already handed out so I guess pics are going to be the only thing I'll be able to show you. I got a new Macpro so once I get the pics uploaded on there I can post them.

I killed my copic!

Yeah.  So they're supposed to last a long time and can handle being abused but I guess I'm an exception to that rule. I managed to mess it up in less than 6 months. The tip is shot and the marker is running dry and of coarse my husband has put me on a spending ban. According to him "I spend too much".  I'm on a freeze for a month.  Why me? Why me? Why me?  On a side note: I have another card to share today.
This card is created using American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection. I have to be honest. I have a crush. Not only is she beautiful her crafting style is totally cute.  Love it!

Son's 1st birthday cakes

My son't first birthday party was this past weekend. He just loves Yo gabba gabba. We were having a hard time finding anything locally with those characters so we bought the party supplies online and I tackeled making the cakes from scratch. I normally buy the character pans and decorate the cakes since the designs are already visible and it's pretty easy. I'm proud to say that even the fondant was home made. I used this recipe. It came out a little sticky so I was afraid of putting it through my circut cake so I got out my handy dandy Wilton fondant cutters to make the shapes. I think they came out so cute. They tasted pretty good too.

Card and Gift bag

I've actually been creating an awful lot.  My problem: once the picture is taken there is  no guarantee that I'm actually going to upload it to my computer.  The other day I sat down and I uploaded all the pics in there.  So now for a little while I'll have something crafty to put up here.
I crated this for my Mother in law's birthday.  I'm obsessed with creating gift bags out of lunch bags. They're cheap and very easy to personalize.  I've been making them left and right.  I have a few more projects to share with them later in the week.  Inside this bag was a Peachy keen stamp set, two acrylic blocks, a momento dew drop and the refill.  Fit in there perfectly.  Of coarse I forgot to give her the card but that's besides the point.  I used a lot of things to create this project so I'm going to try and link as much as possible. Not necessarily where I purchased it from but so you can get an idea of what it is and looks like.  The only thing that I really altered was the ribbon and the white paper flowers.  The ribbon used to be a baby blue color and I used my copics with the chisel end and colored it to match I did the same thing with the white paper flowers except I used the brush end to color them.  On the bag the butterflies are supposed to form a heart. Didn't look as nice as I was hoping but the effect is still noticeable I think.

My baby turned 1!

My sweet baby boy turned 1 yesterday.  He's totally sweet and spoiled. I LOVE MY SON! Here is a picture we took for his 1st birthday at Portrait Innovations.  He's so photogenic. I brought a cupcake to his photo shoot and he did not want anything to do with it. He did like playing with the clown decoration that was on it though.

I won! I won!

View Image

I can't believe this, I won the Martha Stewart Cricut cake machine through Craft Critique.  I'm over the moon excited.  I can't wait to have it in my hot little hands. It's beautiful! Ofcoarse Ryan was not happy that I bought one already but my friend did not have a chance to catch the great Michaels deal so I'm selling it to her for a really good price.  She's totally excited about that.  YEAH!!!

I'm a .com!!!

I'm so super excited. I've been thinking about doing this for a little bit, you know in case I get famous or something, then the other day I decided to go with it,  got almost all the way done and my Internet went down. Called, got it taken care of and then it would not let me check out because some one had an order on this domain already, YES me! This morning I'm in my son's bedroom, cleaning pee off the carpet cause he thought running away from me and peeing the carpet was fun times, and my husband surprised me with my laptop and my own domain name. He bought it for me.  So now you can find me at creationsbyyaritza.com
but you will still be directed to this website through creationsbyyaritza.blospot.com as well.

I'm almost done...

....breast feeding.  It's been a long year and I'm glad it's almost over. I never nursed my daughter this long so I had no idea how frustrating and time consuming it can me. It hasn't exactly been going well for me these last few days.  A lot of crying and a lot of sticking his hand down my shirt while in public. Kinda embarrassing but what am I do it.  Today I only nursed twice which is a huge accomplishment since he normally nurses after every meal, snack and just when he feels like it.  So whoop! whoop! my boobs will soon be mine once again.

My pretty new toy

I've been going to Michaels and seeing that they had the Cricut cake on sale for 50% off. I was debating and debating. Finally broke down and asked my husband if I could go and get it cause that's such a good deal. After begging and begging he finally gave in. Went to Michaels and they had it on sale for 60% off. I was in heaven. Bought the Cricut cake for $150. SERIOUSLY? The had the coordinating cartridges for $20 and the mats and blades on sale for 60% off too. I stocked up on all they had of those and went to another Michaels to pick up more. I also got the frosting sheets but after I cut a few of those and went to taste them, they were the nastiest thing I've ever had. Took the ones I hadn't opened back. They were really gross. It was like eating plastic. LOL! I have a few ideas of things I want to do with it for my son's party so I'll post pics of those ones they're all done.

My pretty new blog

I can't take any credit for it. I was searching around the web and I came accross this site. She has some beautiful pieces and they're free. She has tutorials too on how to add things for people completey technology stupid like me. I managed to do it all by myself. I'm so proud. I have to add buttons and make the name of my blog more fancy but other than that I'm pretty happy with the way it looks.

I had a pretty interesting trip to Hobby Lobby today. Went to purchase some home decorator fabrics to make curtains and pillows for the house and as I was leaving I ran into non than other Jennifer Macguire. I was soooo star truck I sounded like a total ass. I knew she lived in Cinci but I was never expecting to run into her. I was so excited. She's my stamping hero.

New member of the family

Before I go on posting pics of the house I have to post a pic of the newest member of the family. I can't believe I forgot to do this. A few months back my sister was no longer able to take care of her dog and we felt so bad we decided to give it a home. He's a boxer just over a year old and oh so hyper. This dog drives me nuts. The yard is not fenced yet and I'm constantly having to chase him like a maniac around the neighbors yard. But he's great. Absolutely wonderful with the baby so I have no complaints. It took some time to truly potty train him and I don't think he's completely there just yet but he's doing remarkably well. My other two dogs are not sure how they feel about him yet. Some days they play together, other days they want nothing to do with him. Hopefully with time they'll get better. The cat absolutely does not like him and he makes sure he lets him know but the dog has no idea and he thinks the cat is playing. It's pretty funny. His name is Chatam. Doesn't' he just have a face only a mother would love. LOL!!

Things are coming along

Today we had our granite counter tops installed in the kitchen. YEA!!!! We've been without counter tops for a while. I finished staining, polishing and putting the hardware on the kitchen cabinets. That was on heck of a job. My scrapbooking room is painted PINK and the hardwood floors are installed we're waiting on a few more things to get done in there before I can start organizing and decorating. It feels like it's never going to get done. The house is still a wreck but little by little things are getting accomplished. I'll be back with before and middle pics soon. Hopefully the after pics won't be too long away from now.

Happy world card making day!!

Unfortunetely for me I'm not going to be able to join in the festivities. The hardwood floors are being delivered today!! Which means since my craft room is the room that was going to be done first it was the only empty room in the house, case in point, the need to put the wood in the garage so all the crap that was in garage went in my room, so now it's full of crap and I don't know where to put the stuff to get my room done, so... Yeah! We have to figure out how that's going to get done since the room has to be kinda empty for the floors to go down. LOL! Oh well atleast the wood is here. Somebody make an extra card in my behalf.

My home

We've been in the house for about 13 days. Love it. It's so nice to know that I'm coming home to my home. We've started remodeling a bit. Well alot. Completely gutting the kitchen out, bought new appliances. We've bought all the supplies to completely redo the whole downstairs and basement. There is stuff everywhere and boxes have not even begun to be unpacked. Don't want to put everything together and take it back down. I need to take some before pics but can't find the camera. It's somewhere in this mess I call my home.

Isabella asked if she could have some Friends over for a play date, I told her that we'll have to talk to their parents to see if we could go over there. She interrupted to say "yeah our house looks like crap". NICE! LOL! Hopefully not for too much longer.

Well gotta go. The alarm guy is stopping by in a few minutes.

A revalation...

.. I'm a little obsessed with Twilight. It all started by watching the first two movies. My sister, severely obsessed with the whole thing, Let me borrow them. I though to myself. Pretty good. She then proceeded to tell me I had to read the books cause there is more information in there and so that I can understand everything that is going on. Me? read? PLEASE! Have not done that since high school, well except for a few magazines here and there. Plus, I have three kids, how much time am I going to have while moving and everything else to sit down and read a 500 page book.

Yesterday I was pretty bored of the hotel room so I decided to drive around and explore a bit. Came to this pretty descent size thrift store. I love thrift stores so I decided to go thrifting. Pretty descent place with some really good deals. Found some things for the kids for $3 or less. A few crafting supplies for 49 cents, a suitcase for 29 cents. I know! right? But my greatest treasure of all, I found Twilight for 49 cents. I bought it. I mean how can I pass it up even if it takes me three months to read. Came back to the hotel. Put the baby down for a nap and I sat down proceeding to read, thinking it would only be a little bit before someone needed me. To my amazement, everybody behaved. I read and read and read. Took care of my motherly duties through the day, kids went to bed and I just kept on reading and reading and reading. So long story short, I read the whole thing and it's not even lunch time yet today. Loved the book, absolutely loved it. There was a little sneak peak of the second installment in the back, read that too. Now I want to go pick up the second book so bad. I did look around yesterday to see if anymore of them were around but I did not find them. Now I have to find the local library and see if they have them in so that I can check them out and read. I have not seen the third movie yet, want to desperately, but I can at least read so that I'm not in limbo the way I was with the first two movies.

So the point I was trying to make... I'm a little obsessed!

What am I doing right now?

.... Sitting on a corner of the hotel room, eating oatmeal raising cookies, drinking root bear and blogging ofcoarse. Got word today that we will be closing on our home on Sept. 2nd. So ready for this. This hotel business is getting old. Baby finally went down for the night. Well until his 2 a.m. feeding. He has been a complete nightmare for naps and bedtime since moving into the hotel. Hope it gets better when he finally has his own room. Hubby is getting some rest. He's making the trip back to VA in the morning to clean and mow the lawn on the VA rental so we can turn our keys in and be done with that chapter of our lives. Me like I said sitting in a corner enjoying some peace and quiet. Trying to be good and not wake anybody up, I should be sleeping but this is the quietest is been in this place since we moved in and I want to enjoy some peace and quite, catch up on some blogs and youtube vids and have a little late night snack.

Will be back with some pics of our home. There is quite a bit of work that needs to be done when moving in. NO fence and 3 dogs means alot of dog walking for me. Basement is not finished and they had 3 girls. We have two boys, so the pink rooms are not going to cut it for them LOL! Gotta get those rooms done ASAP cause once the furniture is put up and everything is sorter out it ain't going to be undone for a very long time. Our daughter does not mind. She's very exited about her pink room.

Good night

Cincinnati here we come!

Well it's official we just signed the final contract on our new home. We're first time home owners. Very exhiting and scary at the same time. We'll be in Cincinnati within the next two weeks. The kids start school soon we we'll be staying in a hotel until we close on the house and we get the keys. I have so many ideas running through my head of all the great things I want to do to the home. The best part of all staying in one place longer than two years. That seems to be the average time we spend somewhere before we move or get transfered. It's all very exhiting.

Twilight

I have to admit that I really was not interested in this whole Twilight obsession that was going on. Up until yesterday I have not seen any of the movies. My sister in the other hand, a huge fan. I asked if I could borrow the movies so that I can see for myself what this whole obsession was about and much to my surprise I fell in love with them. I started watching the first one around 11:30 pm and could not go to bed knowing that the second installment was sitting right there. I watched the second one too. Didn't end up going to be till almost 4 am. Totally worth it. Now I want to go and see if the library has the books so that I can read them all before I see anymore of the movies. My sister says that the books explain things alot better than the movies does. Mind you I have not read a book since I got out of highschool but these movies have made me want to pick one up again.

I've also seen youtube ladies using an Edward stamp to make these cute cards and they also made him glow. Went to the Greetingfarm.com and bought me a digi Edward. I liked him better than the rubber Edward. Here is the link.
He's totally cute and I can't wait until I get to play with him. Technically I'm not supposed to be buying things that need to be shipped since we won't be here for much longer but I figured a digi would not be breaking the rules.

Well I have to go and finish dinner.

The new Slice Elite by Making Memories. I never did get my old one sold so if anybody is interested let me know but atleast this one is completely different. I can cut thicket material and give a more precise cut.
http://blog.makingmemories.com/2010/07/the-new-slice-elite-.html

My number Three: Some of the news dies from Tim Holtz. Waiting for the rest of the videos to go up on Youtube show casing some of these dies before I make my final selection for pre-ordering.
http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/07/chasummer-2010-sneak-peek-10-alterations.html

Kinda interested in the new Grand Nestabilities. Probably wait a bit for the price to go down. I can get Cricut cartridges for less than these.

Kitty update #2

Kitty is home from the Emergency unit. He's got heart disease. Unfortunetely there is nothing that we can do about it or that could of been done to prevent it. It's genetics. The only thing we can do is manage it. He's on 4 different medications every day. His heart will get a little bit worst and a little bit worst as time goes by. With proper treatment he could live a couple of years but it can also happen very fast and take a turn for the worst without any warning. So far he's doing good. Tolerating the medications fine eating, drinking and going to the litter box. For the next couple of week we got keep his stress levels low so he's living in my crafting room. He can't really be around the dogs since they like to chase him and attack him. When he wants to come out and walk a bit the dogs go in the room and he gets the house for a little while. I've been spending alot of time in the crafting room making sure he's okay and keeping him company so I've gotten a few pages done. I'll be back later with a video showing you all the supplies and techniques used.

Kitty update

I'm sad to say that Tigger is not doing good. He took a turn for the worst last night and I didn't see it coming. He was having a really hard time breathing so Ryan took him to the vet and they found fluid in his lung. He's at an Animal Emergency hospital right now. They're going to check his heart and see if there is anything that they can do for him, but if he goes into cardiac arrest there is nothing they can do. Please keep my kitty in your prayers. He's my baby and I'm hoping that everything turns out fine. I honestly didn't think I was going to take it this hard.

Kitty scare

I had such a huge scare with my kitty. For a little while he's been getting sick a few times a day. At first I though he was getting into something so I went around the house checking to see what he could of possibly be getting into. I found nothing. Ryan finally took him into the vet. They did test after test after test. Everything checked out pretty good. They found his red blood cells a little low and his kidney function average. The vet said that it was pretty normal as he's 9 years old. I got some antibiotics to see if his blood count would improve. The vet suggested that since when cats start getting older their teeth start being sensitive, I should switch him to wet food but not to throw the food away I have. So I've been putting water in his dry food and he's been eating it fine. Has not gotten sick since. Got a phone call today that all the tests that had to be sent out came out perfect. So $800 later the only thing wrong with him was that he was eating the wrong food. Man oh Man! That bill hurt a little bit, but I'm so glad that my baby is fine. We go back on Sunday to check his blood count and if everything in fine then we should be good to go for a while.

In other news some of my Tim Holtz pre-orders are coming in soon. They shipped yesterday. Not all of it, as some of the items did not arrive but I'm so glad that they decided to mail me what they had in stock so that I would not suffer any longer. I'll be putting a video out with all my goodies as soon as it's in my hot little hands.

Necklaces

I've been obsessed with making necklaces for some reason. I went to a few craft stores and picked up some simple supplies. Nothing fancy. This is the first time I've ever attempted to make any jewelry. I had a lot of fun just shopping for the supplies. Here is a quick video showing you guys what I came up with.

Crazy month!

wow! Didn't realize it's been a month since I last posted. It's been crazy around here. My DH was gone for 3 weeks to school. It's was a mad house here trying to get everybody ready for school and on the bus on time, the baby fed and somewhat happy and still find time to clean and go grocery shopping and such. I'm so glad he's home once again. I feel a little bit more sane. Haven't had much time to get into the crafting room. I have some ideas brewing so I've been writing them down on my idea journal. Now I just have to find the time to make them all come to life.

The baby is almost 4 months old. Time is just flying by. Isabella turned 5 a couple of weeks ago and we celebrated with family. She had a great time and got some wonderful gifts.

Other than that nothing much. Just trying not to lose my mind too much. Well the baby got up from his nap and is calling. I'll talk to you guys later.

My new netbook

Ryan got me a new netbook for V-day. I love it. It's pink and beautiful. I had this vinyl Hello Kitty decal sitting around so I decided to Hello Kittify the netbook as well. Love it Love it Love it!! The name of the netbook sits right in the middle of her face, but oh well. She still looks cute.

Mini Books

I'm awful at mini books. Absolutely awful. I've been trying to make one for my friend for two days and I haven't even gotten one page done. She's not a scrapbooker so making her a layout would be pointless, but I wanted to do something nice for her. I find them overwhelming. In my opinion I think they look better when you go outside the "lines" but with layouts if you wanted them to fit in an album you have to stay in the lines. I'm having a hard time going outside the lines. I just can't do it... I can't do it!!! LOL. Oh well, I guess for now I'll stick to finishing the layout my mind has been wondering to today on the Silhouette software. It's coming out totally cute! Too bad that's not what I was supposed to be focusing on.

Hello Kittified!!

My husband likes to buy me Hello Kitty for Chritmas every year. This year he said he searched and searched and he could not find anything that I didn't already have exhept a zipper pull from Targets dollar spot. I was thinking of where I could hang it from and then it dawned on me, my stylus for my Gypsy. I think it looks totally cute. I added some bling on the bow and took it apart and attached some jump rings to hang it from the stylus.

Love it!

Cupcakes

I completely forgot to post pics of the cupcakes I made for mom's birthday. They took me all day to make. I could only get a few at a time done before the baby needed me. Still alot of fun to make. The flowers and frosting are home made and the little cups and sign are cut using the Silhouette.

CHA

Well CHA is over. Hopefully one day I'll have the opportunity to make it to one of the shows. Everybody always look like they're having a great time. I have spend most of the morning watching videos on Youtube checking out all the new goodies that will be available in the upcoming months. I have the top 3 things that I just can't wait to get my hands one.

1. My absolute #1 the new dies and embossing folders that Tim Holtz did for sizzix. I have made a pre-order of these already. Could not take the chance of them being sold out. Pre-ordered from scrapyland.com.

Here are the ones I pre-ordered:

http://www.scrapyland.com/Embossing_Folders_Collage_Notebook_Set_p/656647.htm

2. The new hands free embossing and cutting system for the Slice. I have not pre-ordered yet. Still looking to see who's offering the best price. Definitely going to do it sometime next week.

3. The new 13 inch mat for the cuttlebug, the new embossing plus folders and the 12 inch embossing folders. I'm on the fence whether I want to pre-order or wait until they are available at one of the crafting stores.

Ofcoarse there were some very cute lines of paper, embellishments and stamps but I'm really going to try to use what I already have in my stash. I have so many things that are not even out of the packages or stamps that have seen any ink.

What are you guys most excited about?

Storage tip #1

I'm really big into organizing. In fact I organize my craft room more than I actually scrap. I want to do a compilation of videos showing you some of the ways that I organize and store products. Some of these tips I've seen online and some I have come up with on my own.

Here is the first video.

Here is a pic of what it looks like on my Expedit.

Hello

All is well. Just have been very busy with the Holidays and the new baby. He's doing terrific. He's a good little eater. Nursing is going great. He's 12 pounds now. The doctor is amazed by the amount of weigh he's gaining. He's aslo 22.5 inches. My niece that's 6 weeks older than him came to visit and he's so much bigger. It's actually quite funny. By two pounds. I used to be able to get a lot done with one hand but not anymore. I either have to wait until hubby gets home or let him cry it out a bit. I feel so bad, but sometimes is what I have to do. He loves his mommy and he does not like being too far from me for too long. Sleeping is going OK. We still get up a couple of times during the night but he goes to sleep quicker and quicker every time and he doesn't nurse for quite as long, hopefully soon he'll start sleeping through the night. Trust me, mommy needs it.

We all had a wonderful Christmas. Got very spoiled this year. My hubby bought me a Gypsy. Love that thing. It's so convenient. He also got me a 19 inch flat screen tv for my craft room. It's awesome. Now I can watch my shows and scrapbook.

Isabella got a computer and a Nintendo DS. Hardly get to see her or talk to her. She's too busy playing with all of her new toys.

Jayden got lots of diapers and wipes. So happy about that. We sure do appreciate them.

I'll be back soon with a short video I made with the Gypsy.
