Washi Tape Flags

Hello,
I made a quick video showing how I created the Washi Tape Flags on my layout.  I was all into trying new things for this layout.  First I made a two page spread of 8.5x11. That's a different size for me. I'm  normally a 12x12 girl. Then I was playing around with washi tape. Even though I think they're really cute I never jumped on the band wagon but my Studio Calico kits started containing them so I thought it would be fun to play around and see what I can come up with. Then I got into the whole octagon thing too. Never used that shape on any layout in any form whether it was embellishments or pattern paper. I gotta say. Love it.  I think the last thing I tried was the splattering. Also very cool.

Layout:

Supplies used:
Studio Calico Kits: Snow Cone and Printers Drawer
Stuido Calico: Mister Huey's Calico Shine and Opaque White
Spellbinders: Large Octagon

Lawnscaping Challenge #21

Hello,
I created this card for the current challenge over at Lawscaping challenge blog. The theme is Thank You. I was late with this and missed the deadline but I still wanted to share it with you guys.

My card:

My mom is hosting Thanksgiving this year and I needed to make a card and this is what I came up with. The idea of this card was for it to look like a door with a wreath hanging on the front of it.  Kinda came across. I feel like something is missing but I just can't put my finger on it.  For the card base I used The Paper Company Kraft cardstock. For the pattern paper I used Studio Calico's Wild Flower from the Countryside collection. I cut the card layer the same dimension as the card base and then cut 4 rectangles smaller to make them look like the panel popped up with pop dots. Added a Tim Holtz Hitch Fastener to make it look like it was the door knob. For the wreath I stamped the Turkey from Turkey Days Lawn Fawn Stamp on Copic Xpress Blending Card. Colored in with my Copic Sketch markers. Distressed over top of it with Vintage Photo distress ink and cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles LG. For the wreath I used two different Nestabilities set. Classic Inverted Scalloped LG and Beaded Circles cut out of Studio Calico's Atmosphere pattern paper from the Elementary Collection.  Attached some hemp twine so that it looked like it was hanging by the top of the door. The banner at the bottom was created using Papertrey Ink's Double-Ended Banners, two white prima leaves colored with my copics, a button created with Epiphany Craft's 14mm Button Studio Tool Round and a custom sentiments using Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABC stamp set stamped with Jenni Bowlin's Chili Powder ink.

Copic colors used:
E25, E27, E29
R24, R27, R29
YG63
YR04
Colorless  Blender

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to this months Taylored Expressions Blog Hop.  If you came from Tangii's blog then you're in the right order.  This month's theme is Thankful and we were to use a stamp set released before Sept 2011. A sketch was also provided if we wanted to use it.

I did use about 50% of the sketch. I found that with the pattern paper I chose it became too busy so I had to subtract a few things.

My card:

For this card I used It's in the bag stamp set and Shopping Bag and Labels Die Set along with Graphic 45's Le' Romantique 8x8 Paper Pad. My card base is cut out of The Paper Company's Kraft cardstock. The top layer pattern paper was cut at 4x2 and the bottom layer was cut at 3x4. Sewed around the edges before gluing them down to the card base so that the stitching would not show in the inside of the card.  All my edges were distressed with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Next I cut a scallop circle using Spellbinder's Classic Scalloped Circles LG and a circle using Standard Circle LG. Wrapped a piece of lace around the circle and attached it to the scallop circle. Then I tied a bow around the lace using some hemp twine.  For the tiny bag I cut it out of kraft cardstock. Stamped the flourish stamp on to pattern paper using Peeled Pain distress ink and then inked over top of it with Vintage Photo distress ink to tone it down. The small label and the sentiment were both stamped on the kraft cardstock with Peeled Paint distress ink.  Attached it off to the side so that I can add a Recollections mini rose. For the tissue paper I stamped the tissue paper stamp and beige tissue paper. I wanted the movement of the stamp stamped but I also wanted the transparency of real tissue paper. I added 3 layers of the tissue paper. Two attached to the front of the bag and one attached to the back of the bag.

Inside of the little bag is a mini Crunch bar. I covered around the top of it with a scrap piece of the pattern paper and tied it tight with some hemp. I wanted to make sure that if you looked at the card from above you could not see the bright blue wrapper of the candy bar.

That finished up my card for this hop.

Now please head over to Kelly's blog. Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your day.

Unity Stamp Co. Sketch Challenge

This card is created for Unity Stamp Co. Kit of The Month challenge. They provide a sketch and you make a card interpreting it using one of their Kits of the Month stamps. Click here for more info.
I chose Just Be You from Dec. 2010 to complete my card. Stamped the scallop circle with Jenni Bowlin for Ranger Fountain Pen ink on pattern paper from Authentique 6x6 paper pad Blissful. Cut the outside of the scallop with scissors and used one of my Standard Circles Large Nestabilities to cut the middle of the scallop circle and the top later of the card base, I used The Paper Company Kraft cardstock found at Joanns for my base. I have this really old Ellison design die called Tags, Traditional. I cut the large tag with American Crafts Charcoal cardstock. The scallops were cut using Quickutz die Scallop Edges using more of the pattern paper from the same Aunthentique paper pad, stitched around the edges and added a button using Epiphany Crafts Button Studio Tool Hear 20 with some jute twine tied in a bow. For the inside of the card I stamped the bee from the same Unity Kit with Stazon ink in Jet Black and colored it in with Prismacolor pencils in PC915 Lemon Yellow and PC904 Light Cerulean Blue. That finished this card.

Last day of Kindergarten gifts

I wanted to give the kids a little for something for their last day and I came up with these.  I had gone to Target after Valentines to see what they had on clearance and I saw these tiny Playdoh jars.  After looking at them the only Valentines on it was a sticker you add. The actual container were just regular containers so I got them. And at 50% off they were pretty cheap.  Went to Hobby Lobby and found the boxes on clearance for .71 cents for a pack of 24. Such a good deal.  Going though my stash to figure out what to give the kids I realized that they playdoh jars fit inside of the boxes perfectly.  Lucky since I didn't plan it out but I'm glad it worked out cause that made it super easy to make.  The die cut that goes on the jars read: "Thank you for being my classmate" plus my daughters name.

Play date goodies

My daughter had a play date a few weeks ago and I had made these goodie bags and I forgot to post them.  Very ease, very simple and very quick to make.

Breakdown and supplies:
I got these boxes from MFT stamps. It was a whole kit that included a stamp set, ribbon, brads and these favor boxes. They are no longer for sale.  It was called: I want candy! mini stamp set kit. I used 3 of the boxes and ribbon that came with the kit. For the girls I used Hooga Booga stamp set. It's in the Bubble bin so I'm pretty sure that means that when they sell out they won't be carrying it. I'm not sure but if you want it go get it now. For the boy one I used Love Machine stamp set. I could not find it on the website so I believe is no longer available. All colored with copics and atyou spica pens.  To die cut them I used Standard Circles Large, Classic Scalloped Circles Large, Classic Ovals Large, Classic Scalloped Ovals Large and Labels Four Nestabilities, distressed with Pumice Stone and Spun Sugar distress inks with Ki Memories Classic Prints Paper Pad.

Copic colors:

C.C.Designs card

I love C.C. Designs images. They're super CUTE!  Just received this image the other day and I just had to ink it up and color it in.  LOVE her!

Breakdown and supplies:
The card is cut to a standard size card (4 1/2 x 5 3/4) using Recollections gray cardstock, distressed with Pumice Stone distress ink.  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four with Cosmo Cricket's Girl Friday and Everafter stack. Distressed the patterned paper with Pumice Stone and Wild Honey distress ink. Stamped C.C.Designs Sweet November Lillian Rubber stamp with Memento Dew Drop in Tuxedo Black on some  Cryogen White cardstock.  Colored her in with Copics (will list the colors at the end) and added some sparkle to her atyou Spica pens. Distressed the die cut with Pumice stone distress ink, on the corner I made my own flourish using a Silhouette America cut file (accent_flourish_C20091125023039_20509 11/10/2009), Tulip heat setting tool and Tulip Glam-It-Up Iron on Crystals.  The clay flowers I purchased at Michaels wedding section colored with Copics to match the colors used through the card. Used my Mini Bow Easy to create the bow using random ribbon from my stash. Random Crystals though the  die cut and on her crown finishes up the card.

6th Birthday party!

We celebrated my Daughter's 6th birthday party this past Saturday and fun was had by all!! I was exhausted when I got home. I fell asleep on the couch for about an hour. She was hopped up on sugar. LOL! She just wanted to head to her room and start tearing open all the gifts she received.

This is the table setting. They provided all the plates, napkins, cups, place mats and utensils and I made the goodie bags. Very simple. There were about 20 children and their parents there so I had to make quick and simple treats. A lunch bag filled with party favors from Walmart. I printed the journaling on the computer. It reads: Thank you for celebrating my 6th Birthday with me. Skatetown USA February 2011. Isabella Eby.
I cut the rectangles with Nestabilities Long Classic Rectangles Large and Nestablities Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Large. On the corner I added a Littlest Pet shop sticker.  It was her theme added to the theme that the skating rink provided.  Folded the top over and added some curling ribbon to complete the bag.

The beautiful Birthday girl with her cake.

The birthday cake.  I baked three 8 inch square cakes. Cut two about an each shorter than each other and layered them.  The paw at the top was cut with my Martha Stewart Cricut cake using the Mickey and Friends cartridge.  The "grass" was made with a pipping bag and a pipping tip.  The fence is Wilton Fondant cut into rectangles and long strips to make it look like a fence. The flowers were also pipped. Added one of her Littlest pet shop dogs on the top.  There were 24 cupcakes. The grass  and flowers were pipped on. The bone was cut using a cookie cutter with fondant.

Valentina

Just another card share.  This is using Green Bean Baby stamps by Ellia called Valentina. Isn't she just the cutest!

Break down and supplies:

First I stamped Green Bean Baby stamps by Ellia called Valentina on some Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select  White Cardstock  with Momento Dew Drop Tuxedo Black.  Colored her in using my Copics and atyou Spika pens (I'll post the colors at the end).  Once she was all colored and looking pretty I cut her out using my Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large.  I took some KolorFast Brown Crepe Streamer and made a frame around the circle. Then using my Fiskars fabric scalloped shears I cut scallops on the streamer. Added some some scrap ribbon, some Recollections bling (that's the Michaels brand) and some white paper roses I got from Favorpro colored with my Copics to  match. Layered all on top of Recollections white cardstock, I believe. Have had it for a while. Don't remember where it came from.

Copic colors:

E0000, E000, E00, E21, E25, E27, E29

Stamping Bella Card

Hello,
It's snowing it's butt of here in Cinci.  We're supposed to get like 8 inches or something so schools got canceled.  Husband is home playing and watching the children so I'm enjoying some peace and quiet in my room making the Thank You cards for Christmas. I'm almost done. I needed a little break so why not update the blog. I think I got my mojo back. It's been a while since I've been able to just sit down and create so I'm enjoying this very much.  I created this card a few days ago.  Stamping Bella had a fantastic sale for Cyber Monday and I've been itching to play. I got some refills for my copics so I can start playing around with them some more.

The breakdown and supplies:
I stamped Stamping Bella's gidyupabella with Dew Drop Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Colored in with Copics and atyou spika pens. I'll post the colors bellow. After everything was colored in I used  inkadinkado Stamping mask paper to cover the bella.  Then I stamped the barn from Pink Cat studio Background Plate #5-Farm as the background with Colorbox Scarlet pigment ink and grass from Flopsy I'm pulling from you MFT Stamp set(that's the best link I could find, It's an old stamp set) stamped with some green ink I've had in my stash. It doesn't have a name on it and I have not idea where I got it from. I used my Copic multi liner olive 0.05  to add a few extra streaks of grass. After everything was stamped I cut it out with Nestabilities Large Octagon. While the paper was still in the die, I used the die as a stencil. Used my Copic Airbrush systems to add some blue for the sky with my Copics. Removed the die and there is a white border around the whole image now. Added some pop dots and cut Nestabilities Large Scalloped Octagon to add another layer underneath.  Used Recollections Kraft cardstock as the card based embossed using my Provo Craft Cuttlebug and Sizzix's embossing folder Argyle #2.  Then I inked over the raised area with SU!'s Crumb Cake Classic ink. I stamped Stamping bella yeeeehawwww! sentiment and cut it out with  Shapeabilities Ribbon Tags Trio and edged it with Colorbox Scarlet Pigment ink. I took some scrap ribbon layered it thought the hole of the tag. To make it pop out is simply just tied the ribbon too tight. It was an accident at first but I liked the way it looked so I left it like that. If I wanted it to lay down all I had to do was just loosen the ribbon some.

Copics colors used:
Bv 23, Bv 25, Bv 29

Card and Gift bag

I've actually been creating an awful lot.  My problem: once the picture is taken there is  no guarantee that I'm actually going to upload it to my computer.  The other day I sat down and I uploaded all the pics in there.  So now for a little while I'll have something crafty to put up here.
I crated this for my Mother in law's birthday.  I'm obsessed with creating gift bags out of lunch bags. They're cheap and very easy to personalize.  I've been making them left and right.  I have a few more projects to share with them later in the week.  Inside this bag was a Peachy keen stamp set, two acrylic blocks, a momento dew drop and the refill.  Fit in there perfectly.  Of coarse I forgot to give her the card but that's besides the point.  I used a lot of things to create this project so I'm going to try and link as much as possible. Not necessarily where I purchased it from but so you can get an idea of what it is and looks like.  The only thing that I really altered was the ribbon and the white paper flowers.  The ribbon used to be a baby blue color and I used my copics with the chisel end and colored it to match I did the same thing with the white paper flowers except I used the brush end to color them.  On the bag the butterflies are supposed to form a heart. Didn't look as nice as I was hoping but the effect is still noticeable I think.
