TGF & Lifestyle Crafts Birthday Card

Hello everyone,

Today I have a card and a video to share. I made this card for my niece that's turning 7 soon. Last year I made her a card and the girl had blonde hair and she got insulted since she's got red hair. LOL! This year I made sure that I gave the girl on her card some fiery red hair.

My Card

I did use Copics to color her in but I'm not an expert in Copic coloring so I didn't film that. I figured there are some real professionals out on YouTube land that will guide you better if you were looking to learn how to use them.  I'm still a true beginner. The rest of the making of the card is on the video.

Easter Teacher Gifts 2013

Well,

This blog technically was a craft blog, did very little of those, then it eventually turned into a thrift find blog, not my original intent, now I'm going to try a mix of both.

For the first time in a very long time I have a craft to show!  I made some gifts for my kids teachers for Easter. I also filmed it!! I'm trying out a new camera tripod.  Hope the angle is better than what I've been using. I wanted something that had a wider angle so that I can capture two page layouts in full.

That way you still have a week before Valentine's incase there is something you would like to try.  For today's video I made heart shaped crayons.  They came out super cute if I do say so myself.

Lawnscaping Challenge #23

Hello,
For today's post I have a tag I created for the current challenge over at Lawnscaping:

My Tag:

Close Up:

For the tag itself I layered some scrap blue cardstock on top of some cardboard. Cut it out using Sizzix/Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplates die. For the snowflakes I took the snowflakes out of Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends. Stamped then with Versamark, added Stampin' Up!'s Heat and Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Distressed the edge of the die with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. For the snow globe I used a Silhouette File Snow Globe C20091007162508_2581 cut with Grafix 12x12 .007 Plastic Sheets and for the metal paper at the bottom of the globe and as the reinforcer of the tag I used DCWV The Metallic 8x8 Stack. Stamped Lawn Fawn's Winter Bunny on Cryogen cardstock and colored in with my Copics. Added a tiny pompon for the tail and used Zig Two Way glue pen on the scarf to add some Dazzling Diamonds. I meticulously cut him out and popped him up with pop dots on the outside of the snow globe. For the inside I took some scrap glitter cardstock and cut a slope in it.  The trees are a Cuttlebug die Tree Tops applied some DecorArt Snow Writer and added some Diamond Stickles to the top to make it look like snow. To create the To, From and the names I used Lawn Fawns Harold's ABC. Attached the tag to the top of the cellophane bag with some white seam binding.

Copic Colors:
110 Special Black
E25, E27
RV21, RV23
T0, T1, T3

Lawnscaping Challenge #21

Hello,
I created this card for the current challenge over at Lawscaping challenge blog. The theme is Thank You. I was late with this and missed the deadline but I still wanted to share it with you guys.

My card:

My mom is hosting Thanksgiving this year and I needed to make a card and this is what I came up with. The idea of this card was for it to look like a door with a wreath hanging on the front of it.  Kinda came across. I feel like something is missing but I just can't put my finger on it.  For the card base I used The Paper Company Kraft cardstock. For the pattern paper I used Studio Calico's Wild Flower from the Countryside collection. I cut the card layer the same dimension as the card base and then cut 4 rectangles smaller to make them look like the panel popped up with pop dots. Added a Tim Holtz Hitch Fastener to make it look like it was the door knob. For the wreath I stamped the Turkey from Turkey Days Lawn Fawn Stamp on Copic Xpress Blending Card. Colored in with my Copic Sketch markers. Distressed over top of it with Vintage Photo distress ink and cut it out with Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles LG. For the wreath I used two different Nestabilities set. Classic Inverted Scalloped LG and Beaded Circles cut out of Studio Calico's Atmosphere pattern paper from the Elementary Collection.  Attached some hemp twine so that it looked like it was hanging by the top of the door. The banner at the bottom was created using Papertrey Ink's Double-Ended Banners, two white prima leaves colored with my copics, a button created with Epiphany Craft's 14mm Button Studio Tool Round and a custom sentiments using Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABC stamp set stamped with Jenni Bowlin's Chili Powder ink.

Copic colors used:
E25, E27, E29
R24, R27, R29
YG63
YR04
Colorless  Blender

Lawn Fawn card

I've been loving Lawn Fawn images. If you can't tell the last four cards have featured their stamps. Here is another attempt at making simple card.  I almost made it then I decided it needed some bling. I found those tiny tiny pearls at Michaels. They're by Recollections and they fit perfectly inside of the keys.  It was like it was meant to be.  How can I pass that up.

Supplies:
Recollections: Kraft cardstock & Pearls
Lawn Fawn: Just my Type
Tsukineko: Memento Dew Drop Tuxedo Black
Prismacolor: Aquamarine PC905
Loew-Cornell: Better Way Brush Cleaning Fluid

Missing in action plus card share

Yeah so I've been absent from the blog for a month. To start things off my niece and nephew are here to visit for the whole summer, so it's been me and 4 kids all 6 yrs. old and under by myself since hubby was at school for the first three weeks.  Man you really learn how to manage your time better.  Also, I'm trying out for a few design teams. First time ever trying out so I'm not holding my breath. But I really wanted to challenge myself and do something that scares me. I'm a pretty shy, non confrontational person so this is really out of my element. I've been creating, just not things that I can put up on the blog yet.  I have made a heck of a lot of cards these last few days, though.  I've been all about challenging myself lately and I really wanted to try and make simpler cards that will mail easily.  I find myself paying a lot of money is postage when I have to mail out a card to a friend or family member. That really does not bother me but when I gift cards in packages I want to make sure that the recipient does not have to pay a lot in postage.  The first card did not meet my challenge requirements but I think by the time I got to the last card I succeeded. Here are just a few of the cards I've worked on as of late.

This is the first card. It started out good and then I gave in.  It just felt too plain and I though a felt flower would do the trick.

Supplies:
Lawn Fawn: Fanciful Frames & Just my Type, too
MFT die namics: Rolled Flower
Prima: White Mulberry leaves
Tsuikineko: VersaMark
American Crafts: Zing embossing powder Chestnut
Core'dinations: Cardmaker Series Pearls Baby pink pearl
Martha Stewart: Score Board
Papertrey ink: Dark Chocolate Felt
Copic: YG63
Misc. Pearl and wood paper

Then I figured, well the first one has dimension, Why not?

Supplies:
Tsukineko: VersaMark
Darice: Self-Stick Chalkboard Sheets
Misc: Pearls

Than I decided to cut it out and really try. Not as happy with this one. It just looks so unfinished. Maybe if I added a little bit of pattern paper it wouldn't look so bad.

Supplies:
Recollections: Kraft cardstock
We r Memory Keepers: Corner Chomper round 1/2 inch

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that within a few weeks I can start keeping on with my blog on a more daily version.
